The Server is not Operational. Tags: Exchange Server 2007By Praveen Kumar in Exchange Miscellaneous, Exchange Server 2007, Exchange Server 2010, Mailbox on November 14, 2014. An Active Directory error 0x8007203A Occurred while searching 0x8007203a adsiedit for Domain Controller in domain. The Server is not Operational. When you launch the Exchange Server we might see the below error. Here it clearly says that there is communication issue between DC and Client. Checked if Firewall is blocking Turned off the Firewall on both DC and Exchange Server After turning off restarted the Exchange Server. And checked still the same. So here we have made the Exchange server to join in Work group. Restarted the Exchange Server and Joined the server back to Domain. Finally Error message is out :). domain [domain name] : The server is not operational. My test environment was as follows: One domain controller, running Windows 2003 R2 SP2, 32bit Active Directory DNS DHCP One member server, running Windows 2003 R2 SP2, 32bit Exchange 2007 (trying to install ;-) ) The error 0x8007203A was quite strange, because I was logged on to the domain on my member server. I took the following steps to solve http://www.techrid.com/exchange-server-2010/an-active-directory-error-0x8007203a-occurred-while-searching-for-domain-controller-in-domain-the-server-is-not-operational/ the problem: Check the Eventlog for errors (in my case, everything was fine) Make sure the member server joined the domain Make sure the DNS addresses are pointed to the DC Create a new user in Active Directory with Domain Administrator rights Re-join the domain (join a workgroup, reboot, and join the domain again) The final step, seemed to solve the problem. Pretty weird, but oh well, at least I http://www.itexperience.net/2008/05/24/exchange-2007-an-active-directory-error-0x8007203a-occurred-while-searching-for-domain-controllers-in-domain-domain-name/ continue the testing phase :-) 5 thoughts on “Exchange 2007: An Active Directory error 0x8007203A occurred while searching for domain controllers in domain [domain name]” Mustafa Qarizada says: July 17, 2012 at 7:59 am Gr8 Solution just rejoin to domain and it works. Reply Ayman Bukhary says: June 25, 2012 at 9:43 am Thank u , it is correct solution Reply Eric Fang says: January 25, 2011 at 12:00 am Thanks mate. I got the same issue, and it fixed it easily by "re-join" the domain. Reply Hristiyan says: December 5, 2010 at 8:42 pm Hey, nice article. I have the same problem and my error was strictly connected to my new DC that I was trying to install Ex 2010 on. My new DC is Global Cagalog server for a child domain in my AD. The problem was that my primary domain DNS zones were not replicated on this server. I've added the primary DNS zone and now waiting to replicate. Hope this isse will be gone after it's done. So: Normal Powershell --> Add Exchange functionality --> Execute Script/Command as different user To add Exchange functionality to the normal Powershell I use either add-pssnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.Admin or start Powershell like this C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe -PSConsoleFile "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin\exshell.psc1" -command ". 'PathToScript/script1.ps1'" The problem is the execution as a different user: runAs (or other tools like PSEXEC or minirunAs) is not working because it opens a new window so the output is not shown in the powershell window opened by Java (an therefore cant be read by Java) and is not suitable for automation I tried 2 different ways to do it with Powershell: Way 1: $username = 'domain\user' $password = 'Pa$$w0rd' $cred = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential -ArgumentList @($username,(ConvertTo-SecureString -String $password -AsPlainText -Force)) Invoke-Command -Credential $cred -ComputerName localhost -FilePath PathToScript/script1.ps1 But i get the following Error: An Active Directory error 0x80072020 occurred while searching for domain controllers in domain MYDOMAIN: An operations error occurred. + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (0:Int32) [Get-MailboxSta

But if I log into the server and run the command it works fine. You'll need to read up on how to configure Kerberos delegation for the computer account of the first remote server.http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2008/06/13/understanding-kerberos-double-hop.aspxRegards, DanielAuthor PostsViewing 4 posts - 1 through 4 (of 4 total)You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
