Currently have Microsoft Server 2003 and the database for the Active Directory appears to be corrupt. I rely on AD for exchange email accounts and also our portal(sharepoint site) uses AD to authenticate users. Have about 65 users https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23026086/Active-Directory-Database-Is-Corrupt.html on the SBS and just trying to figure out what is the best method to take to get AD back up and running. Currently when i try to start in normal mode get a error message at logon screen stating Active Directories cannot be started and to boot in Directory Services mode. I was going to go ahead and just uninstall Active Directory but was wondering if that would also delete all users email(which would be very bad). Have backup exec loaded on server but it will not start due to this problem and me not being able to login normally. So i was just thinking to maybe uninstall active directory and then i will be able to login normally(guessing) and then just reinstall active directory with new fresh database and then just restore that file with like a backup from last week(if backup exec is up and running). Guess my question is if i remove AD will i also be removing all the emails from exchange store and also will i be able to login normally after uninstalling AD.
