Else Some times I do Ctrl-Alt-Del and Stop all the process related to Java, some times this also works. However, with Eclipse Java EE, the port binding is removed the moment you except your program –CodyBugstein Jun 24 '14 at 3:59 add a comment| 10 Answers 10 active oldest votes up vote 32 down vote accepted Address already in use: JVM_Bind means that some other application is already listening on the port your current application is trying to bind. what you need to do is, either the port for your current application or better; just find out the already running application and kill it. on linux you can find the application pid by using, netstat -tulpn share|improve this answer answered May 5 '10 at 11:34 phoenix24 1,3051123 3 How do you find that in WIndows, I am running my application on Windows –gmhk May 5 '10 at 11:47 6 netstat works on windows too, on console try: netstat -an for more, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netstat –phoenix24 May 5 '10 at 12:02 1 another advice would be not to run application servers on windows. Otherwise, it might also help not to click on the restart button - but instead to stop, wait 5 seconds, and then start again manually. Sometimes java processes just need a litte time to shut down. Eg if they are busy with a db operation, they tend to keep hanging until that operation is done. &ndash

I find having multiple OC4J containers running on a single machine is very helpful. In this way, restarting one container will not affect other “projects”.One problem with this is port contention. In my Oracle Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.3.0.0), the HTTP server is running on port 8888, JMS server on port 9127, and RMI server on port 23791 by default. If run without modification, we will get the following errors:ERROR jms.xml: port 9,127 already in useERROR J2EE RMI0002 Error starting ORMI server atscsun1.sg.oracle.com port 23,791: Address already in useERROR J2EE OJR0010 Exception starting HTTP server: Address already in useThe solution I used is to change the port no to other unused port: 1. Change the JMS serverport at $OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/config/jms.xml:
