Chosen solution This from Halofromsue copied here: Okay like I said in my last post, Yesterday I disabled Shockwave in Plugins. However, as you all know, you need shockwave and flash for most things....so I went back and set it to say "ASK TO ACTIVATE" so when a web page loads and needs it, it will ask me and then I'll either say "yes" or "no" and that seems to be working. So far, after three hours it hasn't crashed and shockwave/flash all work fine when it needs it. From me: It works! Generally, you will need the latest version installed on your computer to properly access Flash content, including videos on Youtube. That's all well and good, but we are guessing the reason you are here is that something has gone wrong. Either Flash seems to install but the content is still not showing, or no matter what you did, Flash wouldn't install on the official Adobe site. Sadly, these are very common issues. The most frustrating error appears at sites such as Youtube where you see 'Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.' In most reports we have seen of this Youtube error, it is nothing to with Javascript being turned off, but the Flash Player itself. PC Mechanic - Fix your PC's Windows registry errors. Chrome no longer works with NPAPI plugins, so websites that use plugins like Silverlight, Java, and Unity might not work on Chrome. Note: Browser extensions are slightly different from plugins. Find out how browser extensions work. Change plugin settings Chrome uses plugins by default on a webpage unless they are a security risk. You might see the error "The following plugins were blocked on this page" because Chrome automatically blocks some plugins. By default, you won't see plugins that are out-of-date, aren't central to the content of the website, and aren't used by a lot of programs. You can allow or block plugins at any time: On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More Settings. At the bottom, click Show advanced settings. In the address bar at the top, type chrome://plugins/ and press Enter. Next to the plugin you’d like to use or turn off, click Enable or Disable.
