SharePoint > SharePoint Legacy Versions - Setup, Upgrade, Administration and Operations Question 0 Sign in to vote This error occurs when trying to make bulk edits in a document library using datasheet view. One or two changes can be made without any problems but an error if several are made (3 or more), then the response is very slow and usually results in the changes not being made and receiving the "Resolve Errors" icon with the error message"A timeout occurred while communicating with the server. Changes to your data cannot be saved." This happens for all users, whether using Office 2003 or 2007 and occurred while communicating IE7 or IE8. Environment is small farm,Windows 2008, Sql 2005. This has been tested on several document libraries in several site collections so it is not isolated to a particular site or library. There were several updates/patches that had been downloaded (on the sql server) but had not been installed. We installed the updates and restarted the server. We also re-organized the database for the SP web application that was having issues. After thorough user testing this morning, it appears the issue has been fixed. We do not, however, know if it was one of the updates/patches (there were 17) or the database re-org. If anyone has any information, please feel free to add. Thanks...Melonie Marked as ans
