to save a Visio 2007 worksheet as a graphic.During this process, you experience the following error: Resolution This problem is often caused by objects outside of the worksheet that Visio is unable to adequately fit into the viewing area for rendering into an image. These objects can be located so far off the worksheet that it is difficult to immediately view them; and the scroll bar won't give any indication that these objects are there (it only tracks the current worksheet. However, there is a simple way to remove these unwanted objects lying outside the worksheet. Zoom out from the worksheet a bit, and then press CTRL + A. This selects all of the objects on the current tab. Note that a dashed green line surrounds the worksheet, but that it appears to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/295691 extend outside of the current zoom view. This indicates that the current selection has captured objects lying outside of the current worksheet. Now, zoom outward until you can see the entire selection area. In the image below, the zoom level is such that the actual worksheet is miniscule; and now the other objects can be seen. Delete these other objects. Then press CTRL + A again to ensure that no more objects lay outside of the worksheet. Once the dashed green selection line only http://alstechtips.blogspot.com/2012/04/error-920-occurred-during-action-save.html surrounds the current worksheet, you can safely save the current worksheet as an image without encountering further Visio 920 errors. I'm using Visio 2003 version. My OS is Win2K, SP4. I always hit an error message saying 'An error (920) occurred during the action Save As. An error occorred. Visio is unable to complete exporing.' whenever I try http://www.office-forums.com/threads/error-920.1635137/ to save the .vsd file to graphic files, like .jpg, .gif, .tif, or .bmp file formats. I didn't encounter any problem saving the file into the rest of the file formats available in Visio 2003. Also, my colleague's http://www.officefrustration.com/showthread.php?p=3331067 PC did not have any problem at all in all file formats. Any ideas? Tang Chi Chuin, Feb 13, 2004 #1 Advertisements H.Vedvyas Choubay Guest Hello Tang Chi Chuin, Resolution : WORKAROUND ============== 1. After choosing to an error save as GIF/JPG, user will be prompted with an Output Options dialog. 2. In the Size section, click the Printer option, then re-click/re-select the Screen option. This will automatically scale down the drawing to what you see on-screen, instead of the real-world measurements. 3. Click OK. Regards Vedvyas Microsoft Corporation. The drawing page size is 149" x 154" and the print zoom is set to "fit to exactly 1 sheet" so my image is large and complex. Is there any way I can convert the Visio document as a jpg (or something similar)? If I could convert the image (jpg) to at least a 48" x 48" image with at least a 300 dpi, I would be happy, prefer larger but this will do for now. When I try saving the drawing (converting) as a jpg I get an 920 error that says "an error (920) occurred during the action Save As. An error occurred. Visio is unable to complete exporting." Why does this happen? Can anyone help? FYI - I have another post under "visio 920 error" but thought I would cross post with a little more specificity of my problem.
