I would prepare for the worst case scenario here and run a good diagnostic on your drives. SnowGhost Ars Tribunus Militum Tribus: Victoria, Australia. I'd certainly suggest that you verify your backups are both complete and functional.I have also seen the error with a failing SCSI cable. Maybe the driver wasn't ready and the operation had to be defered. Maybe the disk was too busy and the operation timed out.You should suspect failing hardware, but only if confirmation can be obtained from proper analysis. No, disk or disk controller drivers do not report failure when an operation has to be deferred (nor do any other properly-written drivers). They just put the request on a pending queue, return STATUS_PENDING to caller, and get back to it later. STATUS_PENDING is not a failure for an I/O request. I'm not sure what "driver wasn't ready" might mean either - drivers are always ready to take new requests, even on

Event ID - 51 - An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation I did a full scandisk and defragged the hardrive. At the moment it is working and I have had no bad crashes or anything, but I am afraid that it might be a sign of something serious. Searched the web but could find any real solutions. Do you have a drive D??? I have C and D, because of this problem and this message \Device\Harddisk0\D I formated D but now it's happening again. My computer locks up completly. I have to reset the computer but then windows will not boot. I have to run windows recovery through the windows cd so that i can do a chkdsk /p on C. This then fixes some errors and then i can load windows again. After checking the event viewer i receive the same error message agian at precisly the time the computer froze. So i have no clue if it is drive D or C that's giving me hell!!!
