Suddenly http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/microsoft-public-windows-vista-security/198775-error-message-when-starting-task-scheduler.html when I open Task Scheduler I get the following error message: "An error has occurred for task Reminders - XXXXXXXX. It repeats 4 time when i click OK and is followed by 4 of "an error has occurred for task MCVregistrationReminder4 Error message the specified name is not vailid". And finally by an error "an error occurred for task reminders - username Error message the specified account name is not valid" I think it is something to do with a task to register my vaio or take part in a survey but I cannot get rid. It is in task scheduler local and there is no delete. I found a similar situation on the vaio site but cannot find now.Found it http://club.vaio.sony.eu/clubvaio/gb...7&lastpage=yes If anyone an error has can help me get rid of it I would appreciate it very much. Discussion in 'Windows 7 Help and Support' started by martin1223, Apr 25, 2011. martin1223 Senior MemberJoined:Apr 25, 2011Messages:16Likes Received:0 When I open Task Scheduler, I get the following error message: an error has occurred for task realupgradelogontasks-1-5-21-2172834406-3963835389-1001. error message:the specified account name is not valid. What does it mean and how do I get rid of the error message? #1 martin1223, Apr 25, 2011 davehc Microsoft MVP Premium Supporter Microsoft MVPJoined:May 1, 2008Messages:5,103Likes Received:298 It looks like it is a REAL update problem. Open Msconfig and , under the startup tab, deselect anything to do with REAL. Reboot and try the task manager again. #2 davehc, Apr 26, 2011 martin1223 Senior MemberJoined:Apr 25, 2011Messages:16Likes Received:0 Thanks, but that does not fix the problem. I know that it is the real update. Is there something I can do other than disableing Real? #3 martin1223, Apr 26, 2011 davehc Microsoft MVP Premium Supporter Microsoft MVPJoined:May 1, 2008Messages:5,103Likes Received:298 What I suggested will normally, only , disable the REAL as a startup item. It is not needed there as it is available on demand. #4 davehc, Apr 26, 2011 martin1223 Senior MemberJoined:Apr 25, 2011Messages:16Likes Received:0 I did what you suggested by going to msconfig, under the startup tab deselect anything to do with Real, and rebooted. I opened up the task scheduler and the same error message opened up. Do you have any other suggestions…? Thanks martin1223… #5 martin1223, Apr 26, 2011 Saltgrass Excellent Member Microsoft Community ContributorJoined:Oct 16, 2009
