"An error has occurred."User Info: IonizerIonizer an error 5 years ago#1 Okay, so I was playing Skyward Sword and had just completed a puzzle and the Wii froze. It began making a weird sound (like a "clack" sound three times, then a normal disc read sound, then "clack, clack, clack" again). It repeated this a couple times, then a screen popped up that said (paraphrased): "An error has occurred. Push the Eject Button, remove the disc and power an error has off the console. Refer to the Wii Operations Manual for further troubleshooting." Well, I did that (minus the manual part), then put the disc back in so I could keep playing. I got to the Wii Menu screen, and then the Wii made that "clack, clack, clack" sound a few times, then the same error message popped up. I tried it once or twice more and the same thing happened. I then tried to put Wii Sports in there, thinking it might be the SS disc, but it did the same thing.I've never dropped my Wii, or even bumped it or anything. It sits in the same place all the time. I got it within a month of the launch, so it's pretty old, and the warranty is probably expired. I've never had any problems with it before, it can (could?) even still read Dual Layered Discs. I haven't modded or hacked it in anyway, and I have the latest update. What could be wrong with it? Has anyone else had this problem? What am I supposed to do? I really want to finish Skyward Sword. And I really, really don't want to send it in to Nintendo during the holiday season when postal carriers might not be so

A: Quick Answer Fixing an “error has occurred” message involves checking to make sure the game in the Wii system is inserted properly or that there are no scratches or fingerprints on the back of the disc. According to Nintendo, this error message only occurs when trying to load or play a game disc that the Wii system does not read correctly. Continue Reading Keep Learning What do you do when the Xbox 360 won't let you play a game on a disc and stays open? How do you fix a scratched PS2 disc with toothpaste? What was the first Wii game? Full Answer The way a disc needs to be inserted into a Wii system depends on the way the console is sitting. If the Wii console is sitting vertically, the label on the disc needs to face right. If the Wii system is laying horizontally, the label on the disc will need to face up. Failure to put the game in correctly will cause the “error has occurred” message to appear. If the Wii system gives the user an error code as a reference, the error code needs to be placed in the “Error Code Lookup” box on Nintendo's official website. This error-searching system helps Wii owners find out what caused their error message and gives them options on how to fix it. Unfortunately, some error codes are not covered on Nintendo's website. For example, error code 002 is not found on the website, but it often pops up on homebrewed Wii systems. Homebrewing a system means that the owner hacks the system to play games and gain access to features that were not granted by the manufacturer.
