That's a C macro define, not a typedef. If you #include windows.h before you #include mmsystem.h the line he points to will be read as: typedef unsigned in

This setup has worked well with Sibelius 6 until recently when I installed service pack 1 for Windows 7. Since then I get an Error 40201: Undefined external error (MMSYSTEM/IN) twice whenever I start Sibelius, and the keyboard is unrecognized. As far as I can tell, Windows is not indicating any problem with the keyboard driver or the sound card driver, and http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?com=thread&start=529351&groupid=3&&guest=1 I have updated every M-Audio driver I have to the most recent versions from their website, but still no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried to figure this out for a couple of days now and it still doesn't make sense. Here's what's happening: My main source code is in main.cpp. In main.cpp, I need to include the mmsystem header file. I also need to include a header file of mine called cframerate3d.h. in cframerate3d.h, i need to include mmsystem.h. When I go to compile, i get this error: c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vc98\include\mmsystem.h(113) : error C2146: syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'MMVERSION' c:\program files\microsoft visual studio\vc98\include\mmsystem.h(113) : fatal error C1004: unexpected end of file fo
