SP2 install got to the very end, apparently without a problem, and then it abruptly declared the installation a failure, and rolled back.I've installed SP2 more times now than I care to count. This is the only machine that ever gave me any problems. So, what is different about this machine:* It has WDS installed. * Due to a small system disk, paging file is located on D. (System disk is 4 GB; 1.3 GB free at the time of SP2 install, more than enough for SP2. Free disk space never got down below 800 MB.)* All $NtUninstall folders have been moved to D:

Solved Windows 2003 Server Service Pack 2 Fails - mofcomp.exe issue during "Running Processes after Install" Posted on 2007-05-09 MS Server OS Windows Server 2003 SBS 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 29,265 Views Last Modified: 2010-06-27 I have had ongoing issues installing SP2 on a 2003 Small Business Server. On the first attempt, setup got stuck on "Running Processes after Install". I had no choice but to end the installation and roll back. After I reviewed the errors, I tried to clear the catalog repositories as I saw there were some issues throughout the installation log of my SP attempt. I followed this issue: http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Server/Q_22529252.html I have not tried to 'Delete all the oem*.* files from the %systemroot%\inf folder'. I have followed the advice of the other posters before the final post only to get stuck on "Running Processes after Install". Yesterday I tried to install the service pack in Safe Mode. This time the install did not get stuck on the "Running Processes after Install", it finished with "Service Pack 2 Setup encountered an error: An error in updating your system has occurred." and proceeded to roll-back. On all logged attempts it seems to get stuck here; 774.719: Starting process: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\mofcomp.e
