of My CD-ROM Drives?? 31 Oct 2013 #1 brz1980 View Profile View Forum Posts Junior Member Posts : 3 Windows 8.1 "Eject" Option Doesn't Work for ANY of My CD-ROM Drives?? Hello http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/34586-eject-option-doesnt-work-any-my-cd-rom-drives.html all, am running Win 8.1 Pro x64. Today I noticed that the "Eject" option http://ask.brothersoft.com/an-error-occurred-while-ejecting-dvd-rw-drive-e-253935.html from the right-click menu doesn't work for either of my 2 CD-Rom drives, nor for a "virtual" drive - I get the same error message on all 3: "An error occured while ejecting [drive]". Device Manager shows no errors, and I've tried uninstalling the drives and rebooting, but error persists. Can anyone help? Also, to an error be clear, it is NOT a physical problem with the drives, as I can open them without a problem through the buttons on the front. Finally, if for some reason I can't fix this issue, does anyone know of a way to at least just DELETE the "Eject" from the context menu? With that said, there are several freeware programs available to create these shortcuts so I would just google for: how to create a shortcut to eject cd Then pick one and try it out. I hve done this before; however, I can't remember which one I used but I think it was NirSoft. Good luck. My System Specs You need to have JavaScript enabled so that you can use this ... When that is done then click the EJECT command.Worked for a cd-r that was stuck in my drive. No paperclip needed. Was this answer helpful? 00 · 04/05/2012 06:11 BrianHimlie Since when are you facing this issue? Did you make any recent changes? Which burning software are you using to burn DVD’s? Did you check with any other DVD? Can you normally eject the CD using the button on the drive? I suggest you to update the drivers for your CD\DVD drive and check. You can also try running this Microsoft Fixit and check if it helps: Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media - A Mr Fixit http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems I would suggest you to uninstall any third party CD|DVD burning softwares and check if it helps.
