One of the largest issues I see people complain about is the verification issue. Namely, iMessage will randomly sign you out of your account and you're kicked back to the login screen when you launch the Messages app. You sign back in and iMessage asks you to choose the numbers and emails you'd like, you click next, and the verification step rudely throws you back to the login screen. If this sounds like an issue you've had, follow along and we'll walk you through how to try and resolve it. Check iCloud system status The first thing you'll want to do before attempting to troubleshoot an issue is to check and make sure iMessage is up and running and no server-side issues have been reported. I had to enter my real email address and password to activate the service. (Remember your real apple ID youname@mac.com/*yourname@me.com* is your user name and an alias email address is NOT) Once I did this. My apple id is used for the first email address. I can then add another email address below it. the second one was one of my alias emails to my apple email. Logging out of this service will remove both addresses. share|improve this answer answered Jan 23 '12 at 12:52 markhunte 8,35111239 I had already activated the service, with my real apple ID and then added it as my first email address. Whenever I try to add an alias on iOS, I get the error described above. If I do it on appleid.apple.com, then nothing happens and it doesn't allow me to add iCloud email aliases. With other email addresses it works. –Rygen Jan 23 '12 at 15:25 Are you using for example: a '@mac.com' for the ID login, and a '@me.com' for the alias. Which would not work AFAIK –markhunte Jan 23 '12 at 17:54 No. Both are @me.com –Rygen Jan 25 '12 at 12:39 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, yo
