Ssrs An Error Occurred During Client Rendering Index Was Out Of Range
I am SSRS BIS for SQL 2008. I have created a very simple report based on the query

SELECT fgimage FROM inmast WHERE (fpartno = 'PD11733 ') This query returns one record. fgimage has the data type of image. In it is a bit map image that

is < 1 meg in size. The image displays fine in Made2Manage (the program the database was written for). I have tried other records and have the same issue with them, so I don't believe the data is corupted. I have created an image in the report image source: database Use this Field: [fgimage] MIME Type: image/bmp I receive an error occurred during client rendering. unsupported rpl stream version detected no errors or warnings when I build the report. When I try to preview it inside of Bis I get "An error occured durring client rendering. Perameter is not valid.". When I run it through the browser I get a red X instead of the picture. I am very new to SSRS so please make your replies accordingly. The link refers to 2005 not 2008. Additionally it uses a data type of VARBINARY instead of image. My settings to display the picture seem to be the same as thiers. I created a new version of that report with two levels of grouping, which works perfectly in Visual Studio. I deployed it to the server (in SharePoint integration mode). The report runs for a while (displaying the spinner) and then I get the error: An error occurred during client rendering So it appears to collate the data but chokes when http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15216711/an-error-occurred-during-client-rendering trying to render it. I can render the report from the server directly to PDF and Excel and that renders correctly. It is just when it tries to render in the browser that it doesn't render. The Reporting Services log simply shows that it processed the report and doesn't have any errors. Has anyone got any clues to what might cause this? reporting-services ssrs-2008 share|improve this question asked Mar 5 '13 at 5:48 Chris Lätta 13.6k43553 What happens if you render to HTML on the server? –Jeroen Mar 5 '13 at 7:37 I don't have a HTML option, but MHTML also chokes. Word and CSV render correctly. Everything other than HTML rendering works. –Chris Lätta Mar 5 '13 at 22:59 I wasn't aware of any such bugs with the HTML renderer. I think all you may have left is some binary search debugging to find the offending element in your report. When you do, be sure to let us know. –Jeroen Mar 6 '13 at 7:13 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted When rendering to HTML in Visual Studio (using the save button after rendering in VS) it gave me th
