I created a new version of that report with two levels of grouping, which works perfectly in Visual Studio. I deployed it to the server (in SharePoint integration mode). The report http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15216711/an-error-occurred-during-client-rendering runs for a while (displaying the spinner) and then I get the error: An error occurred during client rendering So it appears to collate the data but chokes when trying to render it. I can render the report from the server directly to PDF and Excel and that renders correctly. It is just when it tries to render in the browser that it doesn't render. The Reporting Services log simply shows that it processed the report and doesn't have any errors. Has anyone got any clues to what might cause this? reporting-services ssrs-2008 share|improve this question asked Mar 5 '13 at 5:48 Chris Lätta 13.6k43553 What happens if you render to HTML on the server? –Jeroen Mar 5 '13 at 7:37 I don't have a HTML option, but MHTML also chokes. "An error has occurred during report processing." "Query execution failed for dataset 'DataSource1'." "For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors " I have done that (navigation & all that) and the result was that a parameter an error occurred of a scalar variable needs to be declared. The funny thing is that those variables are properly declared in the datasource and in the report sources everywhere. Also this report/datasource worked no problem on SSRS 2005. In the Development Environment the report runs perfectly. On the server the report only fails when executing and after the parameters have been accepted. We use no stored procedures. Any help / ideas will be greatly appreciated. The fix was to delete the existing report using Report Manager and then upload the modified version. They might offer a clue as to where you've missed something. Remember that every folder/level in SSRS can have its own permissions, so there's Home and the Reports folder, etc., depending on how you've set it up. funk.phenomena Posting Yak Master Canada 121 Posts Posted-11/23/2011: 17:26:19 Below is part of the log file.I've checked that this user is part of the "Browser" Role for both the reporting folder, and the Home Folder.Any other ideas? Thanks again !ReportServer_0-4!be0!11/22/2011-09:42:06:: w WARN:
