Giridhar Raj | Home | About | Contact Us | Disclaimer | Friday, December 2, 2011 "An crystal reports an error occurred during this operation error occurred during this operation" error when you try to print a SSRS report from Enterprise Portal (EP) website in Internet Explorer 8 Recently, For one of our customers we have developed an SSRS https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2431178 report and published it on Enterprise portal using Internet Explorer 8. When trying to print the report we were getting an error message box "An error occurred during this operation"When I tried to google it, I found a support link from Microsoft. The workaround given in the following link has resolved the SSRS printing issue. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2445751 The workaround is as follows: To work around this issue, disable the protected http://www.msdynamicsax.info/2011/12/error-occurred-during-this-operation.html mode for theLocal intranetzone and for theTrusted siteszone in Internet Explorer 8. To do this, follow these steps: Run Internet Explorer 8, clickToolson the menu, and then clickInternet Optionsto open theInternet Optionsdialog box. In theInternet Optionsdialog box, click theSecuritytab. On theSecuritytab, click theLocal intranetzone, and then click to clear theEnable Protected Modecheck box. On theSecuritytab, click theTrusted siteszone, and then click to clear theEnable Protected Modecheck box. Thus, the above solution resolves the SSRS report printing issue. Happy DAxing............... The web app is developed on Visual Studio 2010. When i try to print the reports using the development server there's no issue. Once i do an error occurred a deployment on the qa server, enter the site and click over the Print button, and install the active x, a pop up window comes and this error is shown: An error occurred during printing . (080004005) For more details on the error: Message: Unspecified error. Line: 1012 Char: 13 Code: 0 URI:http://mysite/Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd?OpType=Resource&Version=10.0.30319.1&Name=ViewerScript I've invested hours on internet but all solutions point to SSRS 2005. I took a look on C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files. My development server (wich runs when i click debug on Visual Studio) installs these files: RSClientPrint-x86.inf rsclientprint.dll rsclientprint_3082.rll rsclientprint_2052.rll rsclientprint_1049.rll rsclientprint_1046.rll rsclientprint_1042.rll rsclientprint_1041.rll rsclientprint_1040.rll rsclientprint_1036.rll rsclientprint_1033.rll rsclientprint_1031.rll rsclientprint_1028.rll And works fine. But when i go to the qa site IE asks for installing again the ActiveX. Why happens this if the dev server all ready have done that? FYI QA Site and Development uses the same SSRS url, their not in different servers. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Ultimate 64 bit and IE8 When I try to print a report from the report server I now get an message which says (rather unhelpfully) An error occurred during this operation. The message box header says Report Viewer - Microsoft Internet Explorer. Any solutions welcomed. There was no problem when I was running XP Charles May 7th, 2010 1:19pm Hi Charles, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services use RSClientPrint control to print reports. RSClientPrint control is an ActiveX control, which is needed to install in the clients. In Reporting Services 2005, we only have 32 bit version RSClientPrint control. This means if we use 64 bit version Internet Explorer to open reports, we are not able to print them. To fix the issue, please run Internet Explorer in 32 bit mode. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now May 10th, 2010 9:49am Jin Thanks for that. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now May 10th, 2010 1:00pm Hi Jin I'm running the 32 bit version as default. If I open the IE8 from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer folder I get the same error. I'm not certain what you mean by the detailed error message.
