Error « on: May 08, 2012, 12:08:48 PM » I installed avast! for linux on multiple machines as:Fedora, and fedora based distroDebian (stable&testing) and Debian based distroGenotoo and Sabayon (a gentoo based distro)And of course ubuntu 11 and 12.04The problem which I have with it EVERY time is this one:An error occured in avast! engine: Invalid argumentor:root@localhost avastroot@localhoste avast: can not initialize avast! engine: No such file or directoryCan be this fixed? Assuming you have registered the product key, it is resolved by following those instructions to edit /etc/init.d/rcS .Do not execute avast as super-user/root/whatever - run as normal

Avast problems Hi I recently started to suspect virus activity, so I installed Avast! for linux. Job one, as per most antivirus apps, i downloaded the latest virus database, and applied it. The moment i ddi tho, Avast crashed and now will neither run nor allow me to uninstall.
