It has been working fine from various operating systems: Windows 2000, WinXP, Win7, Win8. Recently the server provider informed me that they will "phase out support of SHA-1 security certificates" and i need to "check that the thumbprint is aligned to SHA-2 new SSL cert.". What is happening now is that when my program runs on WinXP,7,8 - it's still OK. But when running on Windows 2000, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29688026/vb6-winhhtp-error-occurred-in-the-secure-channel-support when I call the winhttp Send() method, I get an exception "Error Occurred in the Secure Channel Support". I am failey clueless on certificates etc and I don't really know what to do. My Vb6 code looks as follows: ' Connect to server Set m_ServerObj = New WinHttpRequest m_ServerObj.Open "GET", m_ServerURL_SC ' Send request to server m_ServerObj.Option(WinHttpRequestOption_SslErrorIgnoreFlags) = &H3300 'Unknown certification authority (CA) or untrusted root 0x0100 'Wrong usage 0x0200 'Invalid common name (CN) 0x1000 'Invalid date or certificate expired 0x2000 m_ServerObj.Send xml The error occurres when Send is called ssl vb6 winhttp share|improve this question asked Apr 17 '15 at 0:05 yaronkl 75210 Please let us know if you ever succeed in correcting the issue, or otherwise if you ever find what exactly was causing the error. WinHttp relies on it (which is part of the OS) to provide support for SSL / TLS secure channels. Now, in your case, a few reasons could expla

Function Index Variable Index Concept Index Next: URI Parsing, Previous: Top, Up: Top [Contents][Index] 1 Introduction A Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) is a specially-formatted name, such as an Internet address, that identifies some name or resource. The format of URIs is described in RFC 3986, which updates and replaces the earlier RFCs 2732, 2396, 1808, and 1738. A Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is an older but still-common term, which basically refers to a URI corresponding to a resource that can be accessed (usually over a network) in a specific way. Here are some examples of URIs (taken from RFC 3986): ftp://ftp.is.co.za/rfc/rfc1808.txt http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2396.txt ldap://[2001:db8::7]/c=GB?objectClass?one mailto:John.Doe@example.com news:comp.infosystems.www.servers.unix tel:+1-816-555-1212 telnet://192.0.2.16:80/ urn:oasis:names:specification:docbook:dtd:xml:4.1.2 This manual describes the url library, an Emacs Lisp library for parsing URIs and retrieving the resources to which they refer. (The library is so-named for historical reasons; nowadays, the “URI” terminology is regarded as the more general one, and “URL” is technically obsolete despite its widespread vernacular usage.) Next: Retrieving URLs, Previous: Introduction, Up: Top [Contents][Index] 2 URI Parsing A URI consists of several components, each having a different meaning. For example, the URI http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/ specifies the scheme component ‘http’, the hostname component ‘www.gnu.org’, and the path component ‘/software/emacs/’. The for
