I decided to try installing a different browser. So I installed Firefox, and had it transfer all my favorites, etc. from Internet Explorer. Then, within Firefox, the QuickTime plug in magically worked. I did not even have to install the plug in. I hope this helps. Additional Information SAFARI Montage Version(s) Any Back to top Symptoms When attempting to play a QuickTime video in Internet Explorer (IE), a dialog box appears with the error, "An error occurred inside a plug-in contained on this page." Clicking OK displays a second message, "The plugin did not initialize properly." We have only experienced this on Windows operating systems. Back to top Cause This is apparently a known issue with IE 7 and some newer versions of QuickTime [7.1.x]. It is not an issue with SAFARI Montage. Our tests have confirmed that the issue occurs https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1349010?tstart=0 with other QuickTime media throughout the Web. Back to top Solution There is a discussion thread on Apple's website (http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=803129&tstart=0) about this issue. The different workarounds listed below had different degrees of success for various people. We can not vouch for any of these solutions. Attempt at your own risk. Be sure to completely close IE and reopen it after performing any of these. http://www.safarimontagehdnetwork.com/node/231 Re-install Windows Media Player. When you access a QuickTime video in IE again, it is going to ask you if you want to associate some MIME types (files) with QT. Choose "no" and place a check mark in the "Do not display this message again" checkbox. Go into QuickTime Preferences > File Types. Uncheck the box for Flash Media. Update to the latest versions of Quicktime, iTunes, and Adobe Flash, in that order. Disable IE's Phishing Filter. Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Phishing Filter > Disable Phishing Filter. Disable any 3rd-party anti-phishing, anti-spyware, or anti-virus applications. Set Internet Explorer's security setting to "Low" for your Intranet zone. Tools > Internet Options > Security. Click "Local intranet" to highlight it. Drag slider to "Low". Click OK. Go into QuickTime Preferences > File Types. Select MP3 and MPEG layer 3 movies and streams. Click OK. Restart your computer. Run a single instance (window) of IE. Close all IE windows but one. Test your QuickTime install by visiting Apple's QuickTime Troubleshooting (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/troubleshooting/) page. The page also contains additional information if your QuickTime is not functioning properly. Back to top Additional Informati

I'm receiving an error message which says, iexplore.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x66869bc7" referenced memory at "0x0000002c". The memory could not be read". Click on OK to terminate the program. I had trouble installing QuickTime player and then when i finally did get it to install it didn't install correctly and whenever I clicked on the icon to bring up the player nothing would happen and of course when I tried to uninstall it, it wouldn't uninstall. I was going crazy trying to get it off my computer. I finally managed to uninstall it. Then I went to the QuickTime site and installed the standalone QuickTime player. It installed fully without any error windows appearing but then the message regarding IE came up. Here are the error messages that appeared when I was trying to install QuickTime from start to finish...lol Error #1 - Quicktime for Windows The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2803. Error #2 - Rundll An exception occurred while trying to run "Shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\QuickTime.cp\",@0,0x73617373" Error #3 - Plugin Error An error occurred inside a plug-in contained on this page. Error #4 The plug-in did not initialize properly. After all this I managed to uninstall QuickTime and then I reinstalled the standalone version without any QuickTime errors popping up but then I got the error window for the iexplore.exe - Application Error. Any thoughts on what could have went wrong and any solutions as to how I can fix what's happening would be great. Thanks in advance. stargal46 Friday, March 09, 2007 6:29 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that I found a solution that actually worked.
