If Twitter is any indication, quite a few folks are struggling to download it, getting "Software Update Failed" errors left and right. @iMore @settern rut row.....on both iPhone 6 and iPad Air pic.twitter.com/lc4Ag9hzoU— David C. Bratton (@DavidCBratton) September 16, 2015 Chances are, this is a CDN error, caused by too many people trying to download software at once. Unfortunately, short of calling Tim Cook up to yell at him—I don't know about you guys, but that's a level of access I don't quite have yet—there's not a lot you can do here. Option 1: Wait a few hours I know new software is shiny and exciting, but it won't hurt too much to wait a few hours for the onslaught of downloads to slow. In the meantime, there's plenty of other stuff to do: Back up your iPhone or iPad, chat on Twitter or in our forums, or read our iOS 9 review. Option 2: Try the update via iTunes If you must have your software update right this minute, try downloading via iTunes on your Mac. We've had a l
date, has been just released by Apple. It is obvious that many people are rushing to download iOS 10 , the new update and get firmware on their devices. However, looks like not all is going well as many people are getting a Software Update Failed error message http://www.ios9cydia.com/software-update-failed.html while trying to update to iOS 10. The error is being displayed right after the https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/quot-An-Error-Occured-Try-Again-quot-Message-Everywhere-App/td-p/737199 user agrees to the terms and conditions of the OTA update. The error says nothing more than "An error occurred Downloading iOS 10″.Image : iOS 10 Software Update ErrorIt is a fact that Apple tries to push each major software update to as many of its devices as possible, and this is something which Apple takes pride in. The company wants its users an error to use the latest version of iOS on their devices so that they can make the most out of their already awesome iOS devices. However, Apple should probably be careful about such update errors. No additional information is being provided at the moment for this error, but it surely isn't any compatibility issue and almost all types of iOS devices supported by iOS 10 are experiencing this error. How to Fix :Reports also say that this isn't a local problem an error occurred and that iOS users all over the world have been getting this same error message while trying to get the iOS 10 update. Though Apple hasn't come out with any official explanation for this, the only logical and educated guess is that the installation and authentication servers of Apple are not being able to take up so many download requests at the same time, thanks to all the hype that Apple built around iOS 10.Image : Software Update Failed on an iPad during iOS 10 updateThough the chances are rare, there is a slim possibility of this error indicating a larger underlying problem. However, there’s also a very slim possibility that an issue of a larger nature is behind the problem. Apple has reportedly not released the watchOS 2 today that it was supposed to, and the reason behind this was a bug being found in it. So it might be possible, even though hardly, that the iOS 10 too has some kind of bug in it.Though we can't say anything at the moment regarding the reason behind this error, we can surely tell you how you can try and get rid of this error.Solve iOS 10 Software Update Failed Error :The following solutions, though not guaranteed, may solve the error for you :Reboot your iOS device and your WiFi router and make sure your internet connection is working. No matter what I do, whether it is under Browse, Discover, Radio, Search, Playlists, or my own user profile, I simply see the message "An error occured" and does not disappear no matter how many times I click the "try again" button. This occurs on both WiFi and cellular, even when other iPhone apps are able to successfully connect to the internet. When the Spotify app is in this pseudo-offline state, the only things I can do is play my offline-saved songs from my Starred list and change some in-app settings, but nothing more. It will not update with any changes I have made to my playlists from my desktop either. The only way I have been able to get the Spotify app to reconnect to the service is by fully restarting my iPhone, and that only works some of the time. In the unlikely event that this does restore service, it doesn't last for very long, and it reverts to its "offline" state usually the first time I close the app or switch between WiFi and cellular. Here are some things I've done to try to fix it: Force-quitting Spotify from the iPhone task switcher. This changes nothing and does not fix the problem. Logging out and back in. While Spotify allows me to log back in, everything still says "An error occured. This do
