The input file is 1080/50i and the project template is the default HDV 1080/50i template (PAL). The output template I am rendering as is mainconcept mpeg2, HDV 1080/50i. I am trying to give another editor a shortened version of the file. I then choose best under video rendering quality and check 'include an error audio stream'. I then select VBR and two-pass and then start the render. It gets to about 50% and then up pops the error. This happens in Vegas Pro 10 x32 and x64 bit versions. If I remove the tick against two pass, the render completes without incident. I have generally had no luck with two-pass renders. They either don't complete, or when they do, the video is just a solid green screen when played back. I could just recapture a an error occurred shorter version and give that to him, but that would be too easy ;-) Is there anyway to get more detailed information about the error beyond the cryptic "An Error Occurred while creating the media file (Name of file) The reason for the error could not be determined"? Thats funny because I am having the same problem. But I can render it at 1080p but not at 720p. Does anybody have an answer for that? Thanks.Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: An Error Occurred while creating the media file (Name of file) The reason for the error could not be determinedby Antonio Gallardo on Jan 10, 2012 at 6:59:32 pmExactly the same problem, can do it at 1080p but no 720p. AM "An error occurred while creating the media file The reason for the error could not be determined." I'm trying to render out a higher quality mp4 of my movie, it worked fine using the iPod settings and I've never had any issue rendering to mp4 for Vimeo. Not sure what the deal is but after 6-7 hours of rendering this is what I keep getting. It was happening in Vegas 9. The first thing I tried was rendering the whole thing to a new track as an avi, the vid and project are 720x480. That worked fine. So I singled out that layer and thought it should go if there was some issue on the timeline or some media or something that was messing it up. Got the above error. I should mention that it gets all the way to the very very end past the credits before it goes belly up, its like when its trying to "finalize" the file that something goes wrong. Next I opened V8 and copied the rendered avi file into a new project so now it was just the rendered avi and its audio. After 7 hours, wham! Same error. Not sure what else to try but this is driving me crazy. Anyone got any ideas of a different workaround than I've already tried? - RayUnderground Planet Follow Thanks Quote More Direct link Report Go to solution Direct link Report 15 Answers Go to solution Comments the solution Jim H wrote on 09/10/2009, 07:18 PM I was getting that same error and it turned out my HD was full.
