calibrate the screen it gets to the end and then reverts back to the crappy default snow leopard calibration and says: "An error occured. The new calibrated display profile could not be created or set to be the current profile for this display."also, I noticed they spelled "occured" wrong. It should be "occurred" no? 17" mbp, Mac OS X (10.6) Posted on Aug 31, 2009 12:58 AM I have this question too Close Q: Error when trying to calibrate color after installing 10.6 All replies Helpful answers by J Gysenbergs, J Gysenbergs Aug 31, 2009 2:48 AM in response to jpsimon Level 1 (34 points) Photos for Mac Aug 31, 2009 2:48 AM in response to jpsimon Would it be possible to test this with an external display? All I know from the features list of SL is that the default gamma has (finally!) changed from 1.8 to 2.2. This is a major issue for graphics designers, photographers etc. - JG Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by necronym, necronym Aug 31, 2009 2:58 AM in response to jpsimon Level 4 (1,410 points) Apple Watch Aug 31, 2009 2:58 AM in response to jpsimon You didn't say what you're using to calibrate your screen. (Hardware calibration or software - hardware is always more accurate)Personally, I use ColorMunki Photo (Software version 1.1) to calibrate my 24" LED Cinema on my Mac Pro and it worked perfectly. This little device is a godsend for colour critical work (thank you X-Rite people). The 1.1 software produced a profile which runs on my display and I was able to profile my printers based on the display profile, so what I see on screen is pretty much what comes out the printer (no nasty darker or lighter prints) Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by jpsimon, jpsimon Aug 31, 200

Using the OSX Calibrator Assistant I get this right at the end saying "An error occured. The new calibrated display profile could not be created or set to the current profile for this display." It runs through fine and I get it to my liking, but get the error when trying to save https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2136008?tstart=0 the profile. This is on an external 23" Cinema Display attached to my MBP - OSX 10.6.8 Weird, me thinks. Can't get any satisfaction Google searching. Last edited by Mutters; 17th December 2011 at 06:00 PM. Perhaps try to work out where the profile is http://www.mactalk.com.au/11/106037-calibration-doesnt-complete.html being saved to to and verify that you have read-write access to that folder. This may be an issue if your main user account is not an admin account and you're trying to save your profile for use by any account on the machine. OMM, profiles for the current user only are in ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/. Profiles for all users can be in a number of places, but the main place should be /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Displays/ Hope that helps! It took about four goes at repairing permissions before I could get it to stick. In the end I could save the profile, but then I couldn't for the MBP's screen!!! It's calibration was already okay, so I'm saving up my patience for another day.
