Another series of disk checks from the CD didn't come up with anything. After rebooting to Windows, the disk was just fine.Any idea what might be causing something like this? The disk is less than a year old and I doubt XP can find errors with it that Western Digital cannot. Thanks in advance for any hints. norton_I Ars Praefectus Registered: Apr 30, 2001Posts: 3785 Posted: Tue Dec 18, 2007 4:02 am Paging may also mean demand loading of executables or dlls.chkdsk normally only checks filesystem layout, bu

The purpose is data backups of my PCs (all XP-SP2). Whenever I use this external hard disk (from any of my PCs), there are always a few occurences of the following in Event viewer :-Type: WarningSource: DiskEventID: 51An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\D during a paging operationMy other external hard disk is a Western Digital (procured about a year ago), and so far, I have not come across any such error message when I use it.Should I be concerned about this error event in my Seagate FreeAgent? Since this is a data backup device, I am worried.
