Previous Thread Next Thread Loading... 0/5, 0 votes JohnRiddle Guest Often (more than 50% of the time), when the pop-up that occurs when a new message arrives (down by the task bar), I get the following message: 'an error occurred while calling the callback: " Ribbon GetDCVisible" '. After I click " OK" , the message opens (apparently) fine. But these messages that occur every time I try to open a message from the alert by the task bar are very annoying. Can someone tell me what's going on? Thanks John Jul 8, 2010 Flag Post #1 Share Ezil Vinoth Guest Check in Outlook safe mode. Hold the control key and click on Outlook icon and open in safe mode, now check with Outlook. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_outlook-mso_other/outlook-2010-an-error-occurred-while-calling-the/790ab118-956e-4491-82de-65e5cba5891b If you are able to work without any issues and if you do not get the error message then it is due to add-ins you were not able to open. Follow the steps below and disable add-ins (One-by-one) in Outlook 2010. 1. Open Outlook 2. Click on File> options> Add-ins 3. Click on "GO" beside Manage – COM Add-ins and uncheck the add-ins and click ok. 4. Close and open Outlook and check to open add-ins If the above step does not fix the issue, follow the https://forums.slipstick.com/threads/53681-outlook-2010-an-error-occurred-while-calling-the-callback-ribbon-getdcvisible/ link and create a new profile in Outlook and check. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918 Jul 9, 2010 Flag Post #2 Share Martin.watson Guest Did this, Error message disappear, but now BCM is not working anymore and can't get it to work again. Even tried to re-install it. Jul 21, 2010 Flag Post #3 Share Ezil Vinoth Guest Enable only the BCM add-in and check. 1. Open Outlook 2. Click on File> options> Add-ins 3. Click on "GO" beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in for BCM and click Ok. 4. Close and restart Outlook. Jul 22, 2010 Flag Post #4 Share waro Guest Thanks for this answer. Can you put a breakpoint there? –Dmitry Streblechenko Jul 28 '14 at 22:33 I have not implemented ribbon_getvisible callback function, just added a ribbon using ribbon designer and included two ribbon buttons and implemented click functionality for those buttons –user3682227 Jul 30 '14 at 4:41 What other addins do you have installed? Open Outlook -->Tools --> Trust Center - Add-ins 2. In the manage box at the bottom, select "COM Add-ins" (should be default) and click Go 3. Uncheck "Microsoft Access Outlook Add-in for Data Collection and Publishing" 4.
