Ipe Error Running Pdflatex Windows
El Capitain and when I try to run latex from Ipe I now get "An error occurred during the Pdflatex run" This issue is probably related to https://tug.org/mactex/UpdatingForElCapitan.pdf. To fix my general latex setup I reinstalled download ipe mactex so that it fixed the new locations. Now that I tried running Ipe I get the above error. Could it be that Ipe is looking for pdflatex in the wrong place? I can however confirm that from my terminal running "pdflatex" work fine so it is in my system path. I am unsure how Ipe locates pdflatex and I am unable to find any settings so that I could point it to miktex download the right location.. I'm using the newest Ipe 7.1.8 and downloaded the precompiled .dmg file from your site. Owner otfried commented Oct 6, 2015 You probably just need to add /Library/TeX/texbin to the path in the small shell script that starts Ipe (inside the Ipe bundle in Ipe.app/Contents/MacOS/ipe, I believe). If that doesn't work, please start Ipe from the command line with debugging turned on: export IPEDEBUG=1 ipe (you may have to give the full path to the script, i.e. something/Ipe.app/Contents/MacOS/ipe). RobTrifiletti commented Oct 6, 2015 Thanks, adding /Library/TeX/texbin to the path in the small shell script that starts Ipe (inside the Ipe bundle in Ipe.app/Contents/MacOS/ipe) did the trick :) RobTrifiletti closed this Oct 6, 2015 Owner otfried commented Oct 9, 2015 Let's keep it open so people can find the fix more easily. otfried reopened this Oct 9, 2015 sdmieu commented Oct 13, 2015 Hi, what is the command for adding the path? Should I open ipe shell and add the command for the path? sdmieu commented Oct 14, 2015 I found it, we need to open Ipe (inside the Ipe bundle in Ipe.app/Contents/MacOS/ipe) by something like Xcode app. And then under PATH=$DIR:/usr/texbin:/usr/local/texbin:/usr/local/bin:$PATH, we need to add the following line: PATH=$PATH:/Library/TeX/Distributions/.DefaultTeX/Contents/Programs/texbin Then it would work. sghrunt commented Nov 19, 2015 Sorry, I've the same

Please help us help you and add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. Reproducing the problem and finding out what the issue is will be much easier when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. A suggestion: Do us a favour and change your username to something more telling than "user1234". –Martin Schröder Feb 8 at 18:28 You have a created a label with a syntax error. Please post the label you've made and we can help you find the error. –Mark Feb 8 at 18:30 Thanks. Okay so I'm using IPE on a Mac. Normally I would draw a few diagrams then I'd hit the button where I can add text/maths text and add it to the diagrams. But for some reason, each time I try to do that now, I get the error above. –Math-dude Feb 10 at 12:15 @MartinSchröder I'm not sure how I'm using an MWE.. –Math-dude Feb 10 at 12:16 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? The first thing to try would be to run Ipe from the command line (that is, start CMD.EXE and run Ipe from there) to see what error messages you get. Even better, set the environment variable IPEDEBUG to 1. Also check the contents of ipetemp.log in the Ipe latex directory. is simply because "pdflatex" is not in system path, although some latex editors can find it by themselves. Solve the problem by adding the path of "pdflatex" in .profile file. In my computer pdflatex is located at "/usr/texbin/", so simply add the following line in .profile: export PATH=/usr/texbin/:$PATH Posted by Chenyang Weng at 18:50 No comments: Post a Comment Newer Post Older Post Home Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom) Facebook Badge Weng Chenyang|Create Your Badge My blogs ▼ 2013 (4) ▼ April (2) Two column nomenclature in LyX "pdflatex" problem when using "ipe" on Mac ► January (2) ► 2012 (2) ► July (1) ► March (1) ► 2011 (3) ► June (2) ► March (1) ► 2010 (6) ► May (1) ► April (1) ► March (1) ► January (3) ► 2009 (17) ► November (3) ► September (1) ► August (4) ► July (3) ► June (6) About Me Chenyang Weng stockholm, China Hi there, I am from China, and I am now studying in KTH, Stockholm, Sweden.
