I have adobe preflight done this plenty of times from InDesign files. However, when I open the compressed file it gives the error message "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person

who created the pdf document to correct the problem"I have tried creating a lower res file directly from Quark but this results in loss of image quality. How do I fix the compression problem ? Kerrie Moore Voted Best Answer Edit Answer (for another -2 minute) This could be the result of a corrupt image in the PDF file. I would try to figure out which page it is (in case of a multi rups page document), and then try to eliminate one image at a time until the culprit is found. Once you know what image is causing the problem, you may be able to e.g. to save the image in a different format (e.g. use TIFF instead of JPEG) to see if that makes a difference. How did you compress the file in Acrobat? You can use the "File>Save as Other>Save as Optimized PDF" and then play around with the image compression settings to see if you can find a setting that does not give you this error. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." and "Cannot extract the embedded font "HiddenHorzOCR". Some characters may not display or print correctly." Both errors are coming up for same document. Main Problem Converted/Merged PDF got invisible text for a specific PDF document, when I open open on its own, everything works fine. post in threaded view ♦ ♦ | Report Content as Inappropriate ♦ ♦ Debugging errors from Adobe Reader. I created the attached PDF with iTextSharp 4.0.8. An absent colleague wrote the http://itext.2136553.n4.nabble.com/Debugging-errors-from-Adobe-Reader-td2158977.html code. (Yes, most of the text is deliberately supposed to be obfuscated.) I http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=692252 can open the PDF without problems in Adobe Reader 8.1.2 on Windows Vista, and it looks fine to me. After I print it, however, Reader pops up a dialog saying: An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF an error document to correct the problem. Is there a general way to debug such problems? Is there some logging that can be turned on in Reader? Is there some other tool that will validate the PDF? Windows, Linux, or Mac, I don't care. I've looked at this PDF with PDFtk, PDF-Analyzer, and the free version of CABAReT Stage. PDFtk and PDF-Analyzer both say there are an error exists errors but I cannot convince them to be more specific. Cabaret Stage is perfectly happy. I tried the iText toolbox, but I get: Select an Option Import Frames discarding current configuration? Yes/No/Cancel And a status message saying Start reading out.xml If I click Yes, I get a FileNotFoundException for out.xml I'd love to hear a general technique for troubleshooting such issues, but I'll happily settle for a specific answer about what's wrong with this PDF.
