An Error Occurred While Powerpoint Was Saving The File
64 bit, when File / Open is selected, an error message comes up stating, "An error occured while opening the file dialog. Please save your presentation, exit, and restart PowerPoint." I ran the Office repair routine but there was no change. I can double click existing pptx files or drag them into the PowerPoint application and they will open normally. The file/open dialog box works fine in Word and Excel. Does anyone have suggestions on a fix for this PowerPoint problem? #2 11-05-2013, 07:08 PM Warmwinds Windows 7 64bit Office 2010 64bit Novice Join Date: Nov 2013 Posts: 5 More information. If someone else logs onto my computer and runs PowerPoint, the open dialog box works fine. #3 11-06-2013, 01:19 AM JohnWilson Windows 7 64bit Office 2010 32bit Programmer Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: UK Posts: 1,475 Sounds like you have a conflicting app or addin that only runs in your logon. Five of those services always come back after deleting and the 6th is the Windows Installer which needs to be enabled so Office can verify the license. In the Task Manager, I found several process that were only running when I was logged in as the user, so I removed them but still no luck. In User Accounts, the Environmental Variable are all the same between users, except 5 Pro/E variables which ar
