TeeR, Dec 16, 2012 Top #3 Newcomer mj yule Member Joined: Dec 14, 2012 Messages: 17 Country: Mine did that AFTER i flashed with the new 4.5.0.10 and hasn't worked since. All I got on reboot was "no card in slot". That was on the 3ds and DSlite. Subsequent reflashing attempts "fail" at about the 80% mark. Tried all available firmwares on 2 DS lites, 2 different R4 original carts and last night I tried using various R4 kernel packs to load the .nds (YS menu etc). I tried using a CycloDS Evo too - all with exactly the same result. The 4.5.0.10 firmware pack that I downloaded has screwed the card imho :-( mj yule, Dec 16, 2012 Top #4 Member Rydian Resident Furvert™ Joined: Feb 4, 2010 Messages: 27,883 Location: Cave Entrance, Watching Cyan Write Letters Country: http://gbatemp.net/topic/315784-flash-carts-and-dsi3ds-updates/ This explains what's going on. Yes No Voted Undo Score 3 Cancel Comments: How do you connect your DS lite to the internet they don't natively do that? If you have the NDS web browser card you have no way to save anything to the r4 as neither the DS Lite or the NDS web browser have the ability to save data. The game save function and program routine is part of the game cartridge the r4 operating system does not have that instruction set. Even if it could or I have misunderstood and you are actually referring to do this with a DSi R4s are updated by replacing the operating system which comes in a zipped file. Nothing that Nintendo has put out to date can unpack a zipped file. Learning is my first love. Please teach me how to do this. 11/11/2011 by ABCellars i'd like to know the answer too. my question ages ago was about an R4 card in a dslite that wouldn't load..as far as I know you can't update a dsl and I still have no idea about why this R4 failed..I'd love to sort it out...70+ games. 11/11/2011 by pollytintop Polly come to the dark side. DS to 7.2.0-17 as I read that the R4i-SDHC 3DS works with this version. I have my R4 card updated to the latest version (V1.79b), yet I am still receiving this message when trying to boot up my R4: "An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the system off. Please refer to the operations manual for details." I have used my R4 before without any problems so I'm pretty sure it's not a clone card or anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! ^.^ PurbleRabble, May 30, 2014 #1 Loonylion Administrator Staff Member the r4 needs to have an update file run on it BEFORE you update the console, otherwise it gets blocked. Unfortunately it's already blocked. He updated the 3DS to v.7.2 thinking his R4 will work out of the box without pre-updating it ahead of his 3DS. He'll have to find an older NDS/DSi console that still could be use to run his R4 to perform the upgrading before getting to play on his 3DS again. If none is at his disposal, then ....... Prectorian, May 30, 2014 #3 PurbleRabble New Member Actually, I did update the card before updating the console. It still didn't work so that's when I decided to update the console...
