I have windows 2003 sp2 domain controller and a Team Foundation Server 2005. My Domain Controller crashed and I replaced it with a new machine , all the active directory accounts are same but now the Team Foundation Server application pool service deosn't start. When I start it , it stops automatically within few seconds and the status is ' unspecified error' This is from the event viewer: A failure was encountered while launching the process serving application pool 'TFS AppPool'. The application pool has been disabled. The identity of application pool 'TFS AppPool' is invalid, so the World Wide Web Publishing Service can not create a worker process to serve the application pool. Therefore, the application pool has been disabled. My Team Foundation Server is down which I need very badly... Please help me solve this issue. tfs 2005 tfs application pool Reply tomkmvp 9756 Posts MVPModerator Re: Team Foundation Server application pool stops with unspecified error Oct 16, 2009 10:54 AM|tomkmvp|LINK ... and what identity is it set to? Any idea what's wrong? Thank you, Ken Hi Ken, I am guessing that this could be an issue with Beta3 Refresh. We are not able to repro this using TFS RTM bits. I would recommend an upgrade to TFS RTM. Please refer to the following microsoft team foundation URL for details on the upgrade package (word docs that explain the upgrade steps are part of this package. Run this exe and extract the files in this package to a local folder) http://blogs.msdn.com/robcaron/archive/2006/02/09/528912.aspx You can download trial version of TFS RTM version from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=D5C12289-F4E4-49A9-9235-AB2F6D4CA097&displaylang=en You can download dbgview from http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/DebugView.html Thanks Swamy Hi Ken, Can you create a config file (WinProj.exe.config in the folder where WinProj.exe resides - typically this will be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11) with the following contents. After creating this config file, launch Project and repeat the steps you stated above, then open c:\TextWriterOutput.log and look for Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.ClientException. If you find such an exception can you post that exception info to this thread Admin Blog Todd Klindt's SharePoint Admin Blog This Site: Todd Klindt's SharePoint Admin Blog All Sites People Todd Klindt's home page SharePoint BlogCurrently selectedPodcast HomepageSharePoint 2016 BuildsSharePoint 2013 BuildsSharePoint 2013 Service AccountsSharePoint 2010 BuildsSearchBuy Pro 2013 SharePoint Admin book Quick Launch CategoriesFamilyHybridIoTNetcastOffice 365PodcastPowerShellSharePointSharepointSharePoint 2007SharePoint 2010SharePoint 2013SharePoint 2013 PreviewSharePoint 2016SharePoint 2016 PreviewSkyDriveInsiderSpeakingSQLTech StuffUser Profile ServiceWindows 10Windows 8/8.1Compliance Detailsjavascript:commonShowModalDialog('{SiteUrl}/_layouts/itemexpiration.aspx?ID={ItemId}&List={ListId}', 'center:1;dialogHeight:500px;dialogWidth:500px;resizable:yes;status:no;location:no;menubar:no;help:no', function GotoPageAfterClose(pageid){if(pageid == 'hold') {STSNavigate(unescape(decodeURI('{SiteUrl}'))+'/_layouts/hold.aspx?ID={ItemId}&List={ListId}'); return false;} if(pageid == 'audit') {STSNavigate(unescape(decodeURI('{SiteUrl}'))+'/_layouts/Reporting.aspx?Category=Auditing&backtype=item&ID={ItemId}&List={ListId}'); return false;} if(pageid == 'config') {STSNavigate(unescape(decodeURI('{SiteUrl}'))+'/_layouts/expirationconfig.aspx?ID={ItemId}&List={ListId}'); return false;}}, null);0x00x1ContentType0x01898View in Browser/blog/_layouts/xlviewer.aspx?id={ItemUrl}&DefaultItemOpen=10x00x1FileTypexlsx255View in Browser/blog/_layouts/xlviewer.aspx?id={ItemUrl}&DefaultItemOpen=10x00x1FileTypexlsm255View in Browser/blog/_layouts/xlviewer.aspx?id={ItemUrl}&DefaultItemOpen=10x00x1FileTypexlsb255View in Browser/blog/_layouts/xlviewer.aspx?id={ItemUrl}&DefaultItemOpen=10x00x1FileTypeods255 ArchivesOctoberSeptemberAugustJulyshow more › SharePoint Blog ListJoel OlesonAndrew Connell [MVP]SharePoint Team BlogEric Harlan [MSFT]Sean McDonoughLori Gowin [MSFT]Tom Resing [MCM]Stephen Wilson [Racker]Spence Harbar [MCM]Laura Rogers [MVP]Jason Himmelstein [MVP]Wictor Wilén [MCM] [MVP]Bill Baer [MSFT]Offic
