I've recently installed Mountain lion 10.8 as well. The macbook recognises the interface now that I bought a firewire bus error in 400-800 adaptor, and works fine just as an output sound device. So I installed the software, and when I try to open Pro Tools from the dock, it begins to open the application as normal, the usual window pops up with the option to open a blank session, blank session template or to open a session. When I choose blank session, a message comes up saying;"bus error" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0Does anyone have any advice on how I can resolve this issue? Thanks very muchOriginally posted by metallica_687 - Aug 2012 Username Legacy History Robot Rank Site Admin Posts 581 Joined Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:29 pm Re: "bus error" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0 #200byLegacy History Robot Sun May 19, 2013 11:26 pm I'm afraid protools 8 LE is not qualified for Mountain Lion, let alone Lion. You'll have to upgrade to protools 10. Mountain Lion is currently not fully qualified either, but reports have shown it works. I am using MC 4.0.2 with Mac OSX 10.5.6. I was using it all day and everything was fine, no problems. When I went to select my target, the eSata drive wasn't showing up although I thought it was there earlier. I had even done this exact task a week ago to the exact same drive with no issues. Anyway, Finder showed the driver so I quit MC and restarted it. Now I get this error "Bus error" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0 when it's trying to 'Initialize AVX2 Host' and then it crashes. Everytime. I have uninstalled and scoured the hard drive for any remnants of Avid and removed them along with BCC and AVX plugins. I removing AVX files from the AVX2_Plugins folder. I tried validating fonts and removed some duplicates hoping that might work. And I removed all external devices. I have repaired permissions to my startup drive a few times, including after uninstalling. I have tried every suggestion I can find and nothing has worked and I can't open Media Composer. The worst part is that I was using this same set up earlier. I have done exactly what I needed to do a week before and had no problem. I am now totally lost and would appreciate any kind help I can get.Return to posts indexReport Post •Re: "Bus error" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0 while "initializing AVX2 Host"by Nate Winspear on Mar 14, 2012 at 9:55:18 pmI actually found my problem. It was a corrupt MCState file. I think it might be because I changed target drives in media creation tool and moved the drive. Although I moved it with MC off, I opened MC with it removed before changing the target. MC opened fine the first time but not the second. Anyway, I deleted the MCState files (user & system) and now it works fine.Return to posts indexReport Post•Re: "Bus error" in thread "MainThread", at address 0x0 while "initializing AVX2 Host"by Philipp Wolter on Mar 15, 2012 at 5:58:29 pmHey, I have the same issue with MC 6.0.1 Could you tell me where I find the files you deleted? Would appreciate it. Cheers
