running emulator for Android 4.4. On running command emulator -avd myAVD it gives Bus error on console. How to fix it? android android-emulator share|improve this question asked Mar 28 '14 at 9:59 Volatil3 2,912104998 I'm running into this also. I hadn't used my environment on Mac OS 10.6 in many months, tried opening it up, and haven't been able to open the emulator. I was using standalone Eclipse with bus error 10 strtok ADT installed separately, but also tried installing the ADT bundle and running it that way. Both failed. –hourback Mar 29 '14 at 18:48 Running it through Android Studio works for some reason. I also tried removing "~/.android", but that didn't seem to help anything. –hourback Mar 30 '14 at 1:20 Well, it worked in Android Studio until I updated the SDK. :-) I hate it when updating breaks something. –hourback Mar 30 '14 at 4:38 Found this: code.google.com/p/android/issues/… –hourback Apr 1 '14 at 2:41 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote You want to be using emulator64-arm, it should be located in the tools folder, at the same place as the other emulator. share|improve this answer answered Apr 18 '14 at 19:56 Louis Boux 548823 emulator64-x86 precisely –Volatil3 Apr 20 '14 at 8:15 @Volatil3 He was been on a Mac ;) –Jhawins Apr 29 '14 at 14:22 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Turned out that I had to use emulator64-x86 rather 32 bit default emulator file. I simply removed emulator file and renamed emulator64-X86 as emulator. It worked then share|improve this answer answered Apr 20 '14 at 8:16 Volatil3 2

I run bochs, and get a working X-Windows interface. When I try to actually boot anything, though, I quickly get "Bus Error" error messages. I try to mount freedos, and get the prompt that says "Press bus error F11 [I may be remembering the key incorrectly] to continue." I hit F11, and get the bus error. I try to mount the linux image available on the bochs site, and get the "Bus Error" warning message immediately. I try to mount a WinXP CD, see the initial text "Please wait while Setup tests your computer [or something to that effect]" flicker on the screen for an instant, and then, bus error 10 again, "Bus error." Any thoughts? If so, could you compile Bochs debug binary (with -g option) and run it with gdb ? It might be related to your 64-bit host. Please post your gdb output (run 'where' after the bus error stop).
