Ashampoo is the better of the two you listed so that is what I'd suggest you use unless you don't like it for some reason. Also, when enabling/disabling a firewall always follow that with a reboot or in some cases your action will not be "active". Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. The following will help with routing table issues... 1. Turn off the computer. 2. Turn off any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 3. Turn off the cable/dsl modem. 4. Wait for a couple of minutes. 5. Turn on the cable/dsl modem. 6. Bad Image Error - C:\Windows\System32\AVGRSSTX.DLL Started https://forums.avg.com/us-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=140853 by Clostar , Nov 30 2010 06:06 AM Please log in to reply #1 Clostar Posted 30 November 2010 - 06:06 AM Clostar New Member Member 1 posts Hi there,I was wondering if someone could help me out. I started up my computer today and a number of bad image' errors popped up with various application titles such as 'reader_sl.exe - Bad image' The error message would then read.. "C:\Windows\System32\AVGRSSTX.DLL is either not designed http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/291265-bad-image-error-cwindowssystem32avgrsstxdll/ to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support". I did a virus scan using AVG Free 2011 and also installed and ran AVG PC Tune up 2011 - running all options. It did not fix the error messages. I then installed and ran Malwarebyytes Anti-Malware and found 1 error an old keygen which is deleted. I rebooted my computer and the multiple error messages kept popping up. Any time I go to open a program or application an error will pop up. I haven't installed any new programs in the last few days so I'm unsure how/if my computer is infected. Below is the log from OTL. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Advertisement Prim Thread Starter Joined: Jan 11, 2011 Messages: 26 Hello When I boot my comp a series of alert boxes appear named something like "someprogram.exe - Bad Image". The actual box says "C:\Windows\system32\AVGRSSTX.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." Well, we all know the software vendors just reformat your PC, and I would prefer not to, if possible. That's why I ask here. PC specs are found in my profile. These alert boxes appear every time I want to open a new program, or anything from the taskbar for that matter, saying the same thing, but its name is relevant to the program I want to open; "thatexactprogram.exe - Bad Image". I downloaded HijackThis and here's the report: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.4 Scan saved at 13:29:42, on 11.01.2011 Platform: Windows 7 (WinNT 6.00.3504) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.7600.16700) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\Windows\system32\taskhost.exe C:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exe C:\Windows\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynTPEnh.exe C:\Program Files\Realtek\Audio\HDA\RtHDVCpl.exe C:\Program Files\Acer Arcade Deluxe\Acer Arcade Deluxe\ArcadeDeluxeAgent.exe C:\Program Files\NewTech Infosystems\Acer Backup Manager\BackupManagerTray.exe C:\Program Files\Acer Arcade Deluxe\Acer Arcade Deluxe\Kernel\CLML\CLMLSvc.exe C:\Program Files\EgisTec Egis Software Update\EgisUpdate.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe C:\Windows\PLFSetI.exe C:\Program Files\Lexmark S300-S400 Series\lxeamon.exe C:\Program Files\Lexmark S300-S400 Series\ezprint.exe C:\Prey\platform\windows\cron.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG10\avgtray.exe C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe C:\Program Files\Samsung\Samsung New PC Studio\NPSAgent.exe C:\Program Files\Acer\Acer PowerSmart Manager\ePowerTray.exe C:\Program Files\AVG\AVG10\Identity Protection\agent\bin\avgidsmonitor.exe C:\Windows\system32\conhost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\UWA\AAM Updates Notifier.exe C:\Windows\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe C:\Users\Martin
