Had tried "Last known…" and was about to suggest System Restore which sometimes work. Will suggest this instead. This was the only thing I tried when dealing with a customer and it sorted it out first time. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile and verify if it has the Desktop folder there. 2. If the Desktop folder does c windows system32 not exist, then create an new folder and rename it to Desktop or copy it from C:\users\Default\Desktop location.
