Cannot Run Program Jad Eclipse
29 June 2011 17:22 Alex Messages: 1Registered: June 2011 Junior Member I just downloaded all of the CDT files for Indigo last night, but I have yet to be able to run a simple Hello World program in C. I have tried downloading MinGW and so far I have had no luck. Here are the errors I have gotten so far: Cannot run program cannot run program g++ launching failed eclipse "gcc" (in directory "D:\Workspace\C\test"): CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified Error launching external scanner info generator (gcc -E -P -v -dD D:/Workspace/C/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.cdt.make.core/specs.c) I have spent a couple hours last night googling and trying to find tutorials to help me get this to work, but nothing I have tried has helped so far. At one point I was able to get rid of the build errors, but was still unable to run a program and got the "Binary not found" error. Maybe it is possible I didn't actually fix the problem. My OS is windows 7 64bit and I am using Indigo Report message to a moderator Re: "Can't run program 'gcc'" && "Binary not found." MinGW is a port of the gnu compilers to windows. Is g++ on your path? Open a cmd window and type g++. Is there a similar error? If yes, find g++.exe, put the directory you find it in, in your path. Restart eclipse and retry. If you don't find it, then you probably need to install the C++ compiler from MinGW. share|improve this answer answered Dec 3 '10 at 16:06 Digikata 1,427918 HOw to put it in a "path". –Saad Masood Dec 5 '10 at 18:33 It's just the environment PATH variable. It's a little different depending on which version of Windows you're running. Google "How to set path windows" and find your version of windows. You want to add the directory that g++ is in to the list of directories already in the PATH. –Digikata Dec 6 '10 at 18:56 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Po

If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question. Eclipse is looking for a program called 'make.exe'. Check your mingw to see if it installed make. If it did is your windows path set so it can be found? –Jay Oct 18 '13 at 19:07 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote I stumbled upon your same problem and nothing I did seemed to work. But now I finally make it work. I’m answering just in case somebody passes through this post and ti somehow helps. I tried through the command line first. I opened a command line, wrote make –version and that seemed to work, so I wen

I had this problem too. The issue is that you've selected the wrong toolchain. Right click the project in Eclipse and go to Properties. Go to C/C++ Build > Tool Chain Editor. Change your "Current toolchain" from "Cross ARM GCC" to "Cross GCC". That should fix the problem. If you then get an error that make wasn't found, you need to add the gcc4mbed directory to your PATH. Add "C:\gcc4mbed\external\win32" to your PATH (adjusting for wherever your gcc4mbed directory is.

Using Eclipse Luna (it's now onto Moon but I haven't tried that yet) & adamgreen-gcc4mbed-3b4f8cb.zip I had two problems: 1. the supported tool chains have changed and no longer contains "Sourcery G++ Lite". The most plausible one listed is "Cross ARM GCC" 2. "Properties | C/C++ Build | Builder Settings | Build command:" references ${cs-make} which seems to be undefined. This is what causes your problem of Error: Program "" not found in PATH Change the Build command: value to make and then the makefile will run and you can clean and build the mbed binary for your selected targets. Needless to say, setting up Eclipse is fiddly and I had to work through the instructions twice to get it right. I found the section "Additional notes for Windows users" helpful although the \ / issue no longer seems to be a problem. Finally, to get the full benefit of Eclipse you need to work through the "Eliminate Indexer Errors" section. I found that adding the line GCFLAGS := -v to the project's makefile useful as it lists all the include file paths. This helps you find directories (you won't need them all) to remove p
