Cognos Error Qe-def-0190
QE-DEF-0149 QE-DEF-019 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) When executing a metric extract from Cognos Metrics Designer, the extract fails with an error. Symptom PD-MD-0106 No calendar hierarchy mappings have been specified in extract 'Extract Name' that pertain to value type 'Actual' of metric type 'Metric_Type_Name'. or QE-DEF-0149 Incorrect query specification. QE-DEF-0190 A value is expected for the attribute 'expression'. Cause The Time and Currency Mappings screen in the Edit Extract Wizard offers a number of different paths to time dimension members that can be mapped to the calendar time periods. If the correct members are not selected, the extract will fail as the mappings will not be recognized. Resolving the problem Ensure the time periods have been correctly mapped in the extract definition. Steps: In Cognos Metrics Designer, right-click the extract and select Edit Definition. Click the Time Periods Filtering tab. Click Edit Metric Studio Time Mappings. Select the desired Business Calendar Level, and click the elipsis next to the first period to be mapped. Expand the time dimension, and then the time hierarchy. Below it will be a Members folder, as well as a branch for the hierachy, and a branches for each level of the business calendar (ie. "Year", "Quarter", "Month", etc...). Expand the branch that corresponds to the Business Calendar Level selected in Step 4. Expand the Members folder. Select the member that corresponds to the first period to map (selected in Step 5). Click OK (the remaining periods for that level of the business calendar will be automatically mapped). Repeat steps 4 through 9 for each level of the business calendar. tab is element order. Set this to By Name to ensure the order of variables declared in the data input do not affect where data is placed in a cube, removing one of the elements can result in all subsequent variables being incorrectly mapped.
