Lately for some reason when I try to sync it doesn't recognize my partnership and wants to set up a new one. I enter the name of the old partnership and it says I cannot use that name because it's already being used. I tried soft reset and this did not help. I get the following message "Communication error: Cannot start communications with the desktop computer." Remote networking could not start due a critical error (Error 608). I just installed Active Sync 3.7.1 and I am having issues with the synchronization of my contacts. I sync with two computers (Home and Laptop). I ask to not sync my personal contact with my laptop and it seems that active sync ignores this request. Your PC attempts to connect to the Internet whenever you synchronize. Start ActiveSync from the computer desktop. Allow ActiveSync on the desktop to go through the port polling process. When ActiveSync fails to connect on the desktop, click the Next button to start the port poll process again. The handheld PC will report that it is still attempting to connect to the desktop. If the device does not connect and the error message is displayed on the device again, close the error message, restart the ActiveSync Connection Wizard, and then repeat steps three and four until the connection is successful.
