Communication Error JPT123 View Member Profile Aug 17 2011, 04:50 PM Post #1 Newbie Group: Members Posts: 1 Joined: 17-August 11 Member No.: 9,167,007 I bought a HP dvd1270 lightscribe burner. It worked fine for a while at work on my new dell w/ windows 7. Then, the other day while trying to lightscribe...I got this message: Print process failed; A communication error has occurred with the lightscribe drive. It prints about 66-75 percent of the layout. So I thought it was the burner itself...I took the drive home. I installed the same Nero 9 Essentials software on my old dell desktop w/ windows XP. It worked fine....so I'm not sure what is going on at work??And I did uninstall the Nero 9 software. I rebooted and installed it again...I get the same message. Any help would be appreciated... wither View Member Profile Aug 18 2011, 03:44 AM Post #2 Advanced Member Group: Members Posts: 21,667 Joined: 30-August 08 Member No.: 8,132,427 I don't know if the problem is OS related or not but Cover Designer did have a printing problem until v9.4.44.0b was issued. You can download it from Nero.com. Note that you need 9.4.26 or later to be Win 7 compatible and that could be the problem but I don't know which update you're using. Make sure you have your serial number written down.Download the general clean tool from Nero.com and run it to uninstall your copy of Nero.Run the Windows Disk Cleanup utility and Reboot.Turn off anti-virus and install 9.4.44.0b, using your serial number during the installation. You will still have an Essentials version but it will be updated.
