Paper and ink lights on front alternately blink and the Bottom light On/Ready light goes OFF. I can not move the head manually and so can not open the cartridge lid. Anybody know what error state it is in? Tried SSC software to reset waste ink reservoir but no http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/32943 response. Any way of moving head to the left without disassembly?Anybody out there able to help??Tony from Downunder Respond to this 0 Tony this sounds like the dreaded waste ink error. I don't know how to clear it perhaps someone else. But usually you can move the carrier. If you turn on the printer. When the head moves from the right side just unplug the printer. The head will be free so you can move it. Don't turn it off or it will go back to the right and lock. Unplug communication error it. The SCC program should help you to do the waste ink reset. The Ink Head unfortunately does not move when switching on and SSCLG reset program doesn't work either. I am going to try the Maintenance program that comes with 2manuals.com as a last resort. I have just replaced my cartridges in an Epson R1800 with Jettec compatibles (the correct ones as listed by Jettec) and now have an unuseable printer. ALL LIGHTS ARE ON and nothing will work, I cannot see that this is a waste pad problem, the machine is only abt 3 mnths old and has had other cartridges replaced with Jettec one by one. Now that ALL the Cartridges are Jettec I am getting this problem. Tried using the Ssc service download but this does not appear to work, even thought the blurb says that the R1800 is one of the machines that the prog will recognise.
