attempting to open a company in Sage Peachtree Accounting, I receive the error message, "Peachtree cannot open the shared folder that contains this company. The most common cause for this error is that the SYSTEM user does not have access to the shared folder." What is the problem, and how do I resolve the issue? There are two common causes that will create this error. The most common cause for this issue is related to incorrect file permissions. To correct the file permissions, follow the steps in Answer ID 19892. The second most common cause for this error to appear is due to the manner in which the network drive is shared and mapped. You may not initially encounter this error message after the installation of Sage Peachtree Accounting, and may suddenly notice this error after installing a Sage Peachtree Service Release update. Note: The following steps require familiarity with your current Sage Peachtree Accounting network setup, as well as basic concepts of computer networking. If you are unable to complete these instructions and need further assistance, please contact your Network Administrator To resolve this issue, it is necessary to check the Peachtree INI file on the workstations and the server where the Peachtree data is stored. To determine your datapath directory on the workstations and server, refer to Answer ID 21334. First, check the datapath on a Peachtree Workstation where you are receiving the error. If your datapath includes a drive letter and at least one subfolder (for example, DATAPATH=P:\Company), the solutions below do not apply to you. Please refer to Answer ID 19892 to correct file permissions. If your datapath on the workstation is listed as a single drive letter (for example, DATAPATH=P:\), continue with the steps below. Check the datapath specified in the INI file on the server. If your server datapath is located on the root of a local drive, and is only a drive letter, or a drive letter and one folder, (for example, C:\Peachw ), proceed to Section B. Otherwise, read and follow the instructions in Section A. Section A: If the datapath on the server specifies a path on the local drive that includes at least two folder names (for example, E:\Data\Peachtree\Company where the shared directory is Peachtree), the mapped network drive letter on the workstations should point t
