The update completes successfully, but then next http://steamcommunity.com/app/45740/discussions/0/828925849305694585/ time I launch the game I cannot play it on-line and am still being prompted to update the game < > Showing 1-5 of 5 comments [40-1]King_Kosher View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2012 @ 1:52pm Download & Install the latest GFWL client from M$.After that, start the game and let it update #1 Sparrog View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2012 @ 6:31pm Thanks for trying to help, however this did not solve my problem."Neither did redownloading all the game files through steam.Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated. #2 [40-1]King_Kosher View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2012 @ 9:07pm What Windows version are you on,did you try to set compatibility mode to XP SP 3 ? Started the game/Steam as Admin? Nail the error down,it has to be something fixable Last edited by [40-1]King_Kosher; 28 Dec, 2012 @ 9:12pm #3 Sparrog View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2012 @ 10:57pm It seems as though the update was being installed in the wrong location. On my C Drive, instead of my E drive where the game is actually installed. I now have the game working. Thanks for your support #4 Flutterguy View Profile View Posts 14 Oct, 2013 @ 12:15pm Almost a full year later and this post was the only one I could find which helped me out. last night and it took a really, really long time to install off steam but finally it worked so when i went to play it windows live came up with this Live must verify the release https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1030324 date of this game so i waited. 2 hours had passed so i left the computer on all night. so i went to check, still on this screen after that i went to school and came back AND http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dead_Rising_2 STILL NOTHING. after about 18 hours it still has not moved off this screen. surely it would not take 6/7 of a day to find out the release date of a game with it clearly slapped on the front dead rising of the web page what is going on and how might i fix this problem. let me remind you i still have this same text screen every time i go to start the game Edited: you can join in anytime, JUST TELL ME WHATS WRONG IM TIRED OF THIS GODDAMN WINDOWS LIVE POP UP 24th November 2010 Post #2 Craptasket goatse January 2006 38,144 Posts There is many ways around it, but I'm not guaranteeing any of dead rising 2 these will work First, Verify integrity of the files. And then start up the direct x, vcredist, gfwl, and last of all zdp manually. You can find them in the game`s subfolders. under: ?programfiles?\steam\steamapps\common\deadrising 2\ if that doesn't work might want to uninstall DR2 :( 1. Install the latest windows live client/ games for windows, not through an update. 2. Download these .dll's http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?xlive, http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl...html?msidcrl40 and stuff them inside of the DR2 main folder 3. Port forward these as GFWL requires them TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 3074, UDP 53, TCP 53 4. Set your date 6-12 months ahead from current before installing if you decide to uninstall Hope these work, I had to change my sound quality to DVD just to have it run  24th November 2010 Post #3 XanaToast.
