So, did you examine the event log on the Exchange server computer? -- Brian Tillman Brian Tillman, Feb 3, 2005 #2 Advertisements Nate Guest I am having the same issue with an Exchange 2000 server on Windows Server 2003. The user has Outlook 2003 and an XP workstation. At this point, it is just one user and it just started recently. Nothing sticks out in either the server or pc event logs. Nate, Feb 3, 2005 #3 jma24 Guest Hi, I have been having the same problem and found a resolution, which thought I would share. This is a very generic error message and doesn't mean what it says a all. The problem in my case was that one of the GCSs in a branch offic had lost sync with the domain and had stopped servicing DNS and NTFRS. synchronised the time manually on that GCS (net time /set /yes) an rebooted it, and it came back up fine. More generally you need to check that you can look up the FQDN of th server via nslookup, and check that there is no firewall or packe filter between you and the Exchange Server. Check the DNS logs an NTFRS logs to see if everything is functioning correctly. Hope this helps.
