W2000 can not recognize a previously disk error functioning > > (within the same OS and machine) hard drive; BIOS detects > > it with no probs. * I found this: Disk i/o error with faster CPU http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/Win2000/Q_20862493.html It has a similar error message: "I/O error : status 00000400". Which indicates disk error status that Windows 2K might have spat the dummy in response to changed hardware configurations.. The article in turn points to this MS Knowledge Base article: How to move a Windows 2000 installation to different hardware http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;249694&Product=win2000 The reason for my interest is that my partner just this morning got this error and asked me to look it up.. don't know if it solves anyone's problem, but I hope it is relevant. Good luck! Rob :) Next message: Shug: "Lost Administrator permissions to a share" Previous message: Vic.Dong: "How to create another directory file in IRP_MJ_CREATE?" Keine Virus-Protection.
