Hi friend, The solution for this is rename the hard drive so that it differs from user name. Because they http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_word-mso_mac/there-is-an-unrecoverable-disk-error-on-file/aceab8ae-b505-40ee-8aff-fd955a705131 should not match . It will cause bug. Please remember user's folders name and hard drive's name cannot be the same. Try it and hope it solves your issue. If you have still problem with saving word files post here. this, but it just happened to me again - Winword 2000 just said that it could not save my document because it said it did not exist... and it didn't at that point - it had disappeared off the hard disk, even though I had saved it numerous times. Same scenario as described below. And so, I must ask again: Is there really no solution, or at least an explanation for this??? I have found a fair number of reports of this very thing happening, so I know it's not just me. It seems to me to be an indication of a very serious bug - whatever else might happen, Word should NEVER EVER destroy a data document.
