I as using a avg rescue cd, and for some reason it informed of errors from smartctrl in the very beginning before the scan. So, I decided to run the Seatools utility and also Drive Fitness Test from hitachi. Ran both the short and the long tests which the drive passed. Also used Part Image and ran gsmartcontrol with the long and short tests. The log is the following from that: Code: smartctl 5.41 2011-06-09 r3365 [i686-linux-3.0.0-pmagic] (local build) Copyright (C) 2002-11 by Bruce Allen, http://smartmontools.sourcefo
