status: { DRDY ERR }ata1.00 eror: { UNC }...........exec of init (/sbin/init) failed!!!: INput/output errorkernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!!The machine is a dual core 2.6 Ghz, mainboard is intel DG31PR, SATA https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1034762 disk SAMsung 500 GB, 4 GB RAM.I've checked other errors in different distributions, but everyone has a different criteria about the problem. You could try http://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23680 appending "ide=nodma" to the GRUB command at boot time. Hit a key to get the GRUB menu, type "a" to append to the "kernel" line. If that works edit /boot/grub/grub.conf to make it permanent. If not, you probably need to replace the drive.
