I have spent too long scouring the interwebs for answers too this issue and I am (hopefully) going to have to award some points. The problem is this:- I am setting up new email account on a PC ( either Windows 7 Pro or XP Pro). As you are probably aware with the shiny new version of office it automatically picks up your email address this works fine it is the next step that give the error. When outlook tries to automatically find your server settings it gives the unknown error 0x80070057. I can get round this problem my manually choosing my server settings but (and this is more an annoyance than a bug) my mail account is set to my email address and not my account name. Hope someone has come across this and can give me pointers (I have a gut feeling it will require some sort of update to exchange). Thanks for your Help Stroppy PS there is nothing in the event logs on either the PC or the server to indicate what has occured.
