Ashampoo is the better of the two you listed so that is what I'd suggest you use unless you don't like it for some reason. Also, when enabling/disabling a firewall always follow that with a reboot or in some cases your action will not be "active". Also verify your firewall permissions as stated in this http://free.avg.com/ww.faq.num-1334. The following will help with routing table issues... 1. Turn off the computer. 2. Turn off any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 3. Turn off the cable/dsl modem. 4. Wait for a couple of minutes. 5. Turn on the cable/dsl modem. 6. Wait for a couple of minutes. 7. Turn on any router or hub that your computer may be plugged into. 8. Wait for a couple of minutes. 9. Finally turn back on your computer. Alarm (on Windows XP) for over one year now, with no problems at all. Very recently however I can not receive incoming mail unless I https://www.zonealarm.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-47230.html de-activate ZA. There are no problems with outgoing mail. I use Mozilla Thunderbird for mail, but I get the same problem if I try tu use Outlook. With Thunderbird here is http://kinetic.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7687 what I get: "An error occurred with the POP3 mail server". There are a few more detais with OE: "The server responded with an error. Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR error 0x800ccc90 AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90". I tried to change several settings in ZA, with no results. Any suggestions? Would uninstalling and re-installing ZA help? Thank you. Hi, Welcome to the forum! Make sure Thunderbird has 'access' in both zones in Zone Alarm Program control. Also try adding your Mail Server to the Trusted zone of your Zone Alarm Firewall > Zones panel. SlyFox ulissesJuly 8th, 2007, 09:03 AM

Account: 'Airband', Server: 'pop3.ntlworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90 I have changed nothing. Of course, if I stop it scanning incoming email then problem solved, but just wondering if anyone has experienced this and whether there's a fix, other than disabling all scanning ?...
