I get the socket error 10013 (although it changes, sometimes 10051 other times 10061) and error 0x800ccc0e. I have spent an hour with my ISP who told me after much checking http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php?topic=119611.0 that the problem is not with them. I also changed the "send" socket from 25 to 26 but made no difference. Like my ISP said, it is not an ISP problem. I deleted my antivirus program and the problem remains. From what I can gather from various sources, the problem is with the registry. Can anyone help me or direct me to the topic? Reboot and log into new user. Now set up an email for the new user. Here are the instructions from Microsoft.http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Mail-setting-up-an-account-from-start-to-finishIf the new user works fine, this means the old user account got corrupted. I recently renewed My Norton 360 3v to the new 4v. After downloading the CD, I noticed that I could not send emails & respond to any adds on Craigslist.org. My email provider is Comcast.net, but when I respond to ads in Craigslist, error 10013 an it uses Outlook Express. It will not send the email and an error message reads: The connection to the server has failed. Account "comcast .net", Server: "SMTP. comcast.net, Protocol:smtp, port: 25 Secure (SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. I can not seem to fix it and really not sure how! Are you using the correct ports according to Comcast? I would suggest that you give Comcast a call and see if your email settings are correct. Perhaps they have changed something. Did you run live update repeatedly until you got all the updates? What version of N360 are you running now? Thanks. Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Account:'your_username', Server 'pop3.wyith.net; protocol: POP3, Port:110'Secure(SSL):No, Socket Error:11001,Error Number 0x800CCC0D To troubleshoot this error message, Step one is to check your Outlook Express settings, making sure that the POP3 and SMTP servers are as in the screenshots, and that your full user name and password are correct. Now first type the following TELNET BIGPOP3.WYITH.NET 110 and hit the Enter key, you will then be connected to the email server. Type in USER your_username and hit the Enter key. You will then get a message +OK Please enter your pass, with the PASS command Type in PASS your_password and click the Enter key.
