that I could follow along with a course on the topic, but then I started having troubles when the instructions I was being given didn't correspond to the info on the MySQL page from which I was to download the setup file, http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/mysql-tzinfo-to-sql.html. Can anyone tell me why, when I attempt to run this command from the mysql command prompt: mysql -u root mysql < C:/timezone_posix.sql; I get this error: ERROR 1064 (42000): You mysql error 1064 insert have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'mysql BTW, I've tried that with both forward and backward slashes, with and without quotes, etc., from my WAMP 5.6.17, MySQL command prompt, and the file in question is the posix (not isam) version that corresponds to the MySQL version on a windows machine. mysql timezone share|improve this question edited May 8 '15 at 22:55 Brad Koch 7,21085682 asked May 8 '15 at 22:48 user2340426 90111 Welcome to StackOverflow! When I try to turn on the Date module I receive the following message: "(Currently using Date error 1064 database requirements The Date module requires a database that has timezone support enabled, and your database does not. See [link]MYSQL Timezone Information[/link] for more information.)" I've read the information provided in the link and have learned that the time zone variable on MAMPs version of mysql is set to System, so basically I'm at a loss. If you don't have root access you can always try the following, replacing 'root' with your mysql username. Log into MySQL by typing /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -p at the command prompt Enter your password At the mysql prompt, run "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM
