I've tried installing the msi from an AIP and also locally cached in the client. The directories don't exits in the client cache- only the msi's so i'm assuming that the msi expands itself during install. I'd go back to basics and take ConfigMgr out of the picture. If you try to run the install manually from a CMD prompt as SYSTEM, does it work? If you try to run the install manually from a CMD prompt when logged in as a user in the local admin group, does it work? I've only encountered this a few times, but sometimes vendors will script in custom actions into an MSI which will only work properly if run with user rights, or run when they can interact with the currently logged in user; SYSTEM may work, but there needs to be someone logged in, so there is a console session to see and interact with. If I can, I usually either a) go back to the vendor and make them fix it (almost never works) b) fix it myself with the transform or c) just give it the circumstances it wants (only
